Exode 24

¹ וְאֶל־מֹשֶׁ֨ה אָמַ֜ר עֲלֵ֣ה אֶל־יְהוָ֗ה אַתָּה֙ וְאַהֲרֹן֙ נָדָ֣ב וַאֲבִיה֔וּא וְשִׁבְעִ֖ים מִזִּקְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִיתֶ֖ם מֵרָחֹֽק׃ weʾel־mosheh ʾamar ʿaleh ʾel־yehwah ʾatah weʾaharon nadav waʾaviyhuʾ weshiveʿiym miziqeney yiseraʾel wehishetaḥawiytem meraḥoq׃

² וְנִגַּ֨שׁ מֹשֶׁ֤ה לְבַדֹּו֙ אֶל־יְהוָ֔ה וְהֵ֖ם לֹ֣א יִגָּ֑שׁוּ וְהָעָ֕ם לֹ֥א יַעֲל֖וּ עִמֹּֽו׃ wenigash mosheh levadow ʾel־yehwah wehem loʾ yigashu wehaʿam loʾ yaʿalu ʿimow׃

³ וַיָּבֹ֣א מֹשֶׁ֗ה וַיְסַפֵּ֤ר לָעָם֙ אֵ֚ת כָּל־דִּבְרֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה וְאֵ֖ת כָּל־הַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֑ים וַיַּ֨עַן כָּל־הָעָ֜ם קֹ֤ול אֶחָד֙ וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ כָּל־הַדְּבָרִ֛ים אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה נַעֲשֶֽׂה׃ wayavoʾ mosheh wayesaper laʿam ʾet kal־diverey yehwah weʾet kal־hamishepaṭiym wayaʿan kal־haʿam qowl ʾeḥad wayoʾmeru kal־hadevariym ʾasher־diber yehwah naʿaseh׃

⁴ וַיִּכְתֹּ֣ב מֹשֶׁ֗ה אֵ֚ת כָּל־דִּבְרֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה וַיַּשְׁכֵּ֣ם בַּבֹּ֔קֶר וַיִּ֥בֶן מִזְבֵּ֖חַ תַּ֣חַת הָהָ֑ר וּשְׁתֵּ֤ים עֶשְׂרֵה֙ מַצֵּבָ֔ה לִשְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָׂ֖ר שִׁבְטֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ wayikhetov mosheh ʾet kal־diverey yehwah wayashekem baboqer wayiven mizebeaḥ taḥat hahar usheteym ʿesereh matsevah lisheneym ʿasar shiveṭey yiseraʾel׃

⁵ וַיִּשְׁלַ֗ח אֶֽת־נַעֲרֵי֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַיַּֽעֲל֖וּ עֹלֹ֑ת וַֽיִּזְבְּח֞וּ זְבָחִ֧ים שְׁלָמִ֛ים לַיהוָ֖ה פָּרִֽים׃ wayishelaḥ ʾet־naʿarey beney yiseraʾel wayaʿalu ʿolot wayizebeḥu zevaḥiym shelamiym layhwah pariym׃

⁶ וַיִּקַּ֤ח מֹשֶׁה֙ חֲצִ֣י הַדָּ֔ם וַיָּ֖שֶׂם בָּאַגָּנֹ֑ת וַחֲצִ֣י הַדָּ֔ם זָרַ֖ק עַל־הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃ wayiqaḥ mosheh ḥatsiy hadam wayasem baʾaganot waḥatsiy hadam zaraq ʿal־hamizebeaḥ׃

⁷ וַיִּקַּח֙ סֵ֣פֶר הַבְּרִ֔ית וַיִּקְרָ֖א בְּאָזְנֵ֣י הָעָ֑ם וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ כֹּ֛ל אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה נַעֲשֶׂ֥ה וְנִשְׁמָֽע׃ wayiqaḥ sefer haberiyt wayiqeraʾ beʾazeney haʿam wayoʾmeru kol ʾasher־diber yehwah naʿaseh wenishemaʿ׃

⁸ וַיִּקַּ֤ח מֹשֶׁה֙ אֶת־הַדָּ֔ם וַיִּזְרֹ֖ק עַל־הָעָ֑ם וַיֹּ֗אמֶר הִנֵּ֤ה דַֽם־הַבְּרִית֙ אֲשֶׁ֨ר כָּרַ֤ת יְהוָה֙ עִמָּכֶ֔ם עַ֥ל כָּל־הַדְּבָרִ֖ים הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ wayiqaḥ mosheh ʾet־hadam wayizeroq ʿal־haʿam wayoʾmer hineh dam־haberiyt ʾasher karat yehwah ʿimakhem ʿal kal־hadevariym haʾeleh׃

L’engagement répond à une parole entendue

Moïse transmet et écrit les instructions, puis les lit. L’assentiment collectif est associé à une communication, non à un contenu tenu secret. Le sang relie l’autel et le peuple dans l’acte d’alliance ; le texte ne donne pas un rite que chaque communauté devrait reproduire matériellement.

¹⁰ וַיִּרְא֕וּ אֵ֖ת אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְתַ֣חַת רַגְלָ֗יו כְּמַעֲשֵׂה֙ לִבְנַ֣ת הַסַּפִּ֔יר וּכְעֶ֥צֶם הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם לָטֹֽהַר׃ wayireʾu ʾet ʾelohey yiseraʾel wetaḥat ragelayw kemaʿaseh livenat hasapiyr ukheʿetsem hashamayim laṭohar׃

¹¹ וְאֶל־אֲצִילֵי֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לֹ֥א שָׁלַ֖ח יָדֹ֑ו וַֽיֶּחֱזוּ֙ אֶת־הָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔ים וַיֹּאכְל֖וּ וַיִּשְׁתּֽוּ׃ ס weʾel־ʾatsiyley beney yiseraʾel loʾ shalaḥ yadow wayeḥezu ʾet־haʾelohiym wayoʾkhelu wayishetu׃ s

Une vision racontée avec retenue

Les représentants voient le Dieu d’Israël, mais la description porte sur ce qui est sous ses pieds plutôt que sur un portrait de sa personne. Le repas manifeste une communion autorisée. Cette scène doit être lue avec les limites de vision affirmées ailleurs, sans fabriquer une description physique complète de Dieu.

¹³ וַיָּ֣קָם מֹשֶׁ֔ה וִיהֹושֻׁ֖עַ מְשָׁרְתֹ֑ו וַיַּ֥עַל מֹשֶׁ֖ה אֶל־הַ֥ר הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ wayaqam mosheh wiyhowshuaʿ mesharetow wayaʿal mosheh ʾel־har haʾelohiym׃

¹⁴ וְאֶל־הַזְּקֵנִ֤ים אָמַר֙ שְׁבוּ־לָ֣נוּ בָזֶ֔ה עַ֥ד אֲשֶׁר־נָשׁ֖וּב אֲלֵיכֶ֑ם וְהִנֵּ֨ה אַהֲרֹ֤ן וְחוּר֙ עִמָּכֶ֔ם מִי־בַ֥עַל דְּבָרִ֖ים יִגַּ֥שׁ אֲלֵהֶֽם׃ weʾel־hazeqeniym ʾamar shevu־lanu vazeh ʿad ʾasher־nashuv ʾaleykhem wehineh ʾaharon weḥur ʿimakhem miy־vaʿal devariym yigash ʾalehem׃

¹⁵ וַיַּ֥עַל מֹשֶׁ֖ה אֶל־הָהָ֑ר וַיְכַ֥ס הֶעָנָ֖ן אֶת־הָהָֽר׃ wayaʿal mosheh ʾel־hahar wayekhas heʿanan ʾet־hahar׃

¹⁶ וַיִּשְׁכֹּ֤ן כְּבֹוד־יְהוָה֙ עַל־הַ֣ר סִינַ֔י וַיְכַסֵּ֥הוּ הֶעָנָ֖ן שֵׁ֣שֶׁת יָמִ֑ים וַיִּקְרָ֧א אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֛ה בַּיֹּ֥ום הַשְּׁבִיעִ֖י מִתֹּ֥וךְ הֶעָנָֽן׃ wayishekon kevowd־yehwah ʿal־har siynay wayekhasehu heʿanan sheshet yamiym wayiqeraʾ ʾel־mosheh bayowm hasheviyʿiy mitowkhe heʿanan׃

¹⁷ וּמַרְאֵה֙ כְּבֹ֣וד יְהוָ֔ה כְּאֵ֥שׁ אֹכֶ֖לֶת בְּרֹ֣אשׁ הָהָ֑ר לְעֵינֵ֖י בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ umareʾeh kevowd yehwah keʾesh ʾokhelet beroʾsh hahar leʿeyney beney yiseraʾel׃

¹⁸ וַיָּבֹ֥א מֹשֶׁ֛ה בְּתֹ֥וךְ הֶעָנָ֖ן וַיַּ֣עַל אֶל־הָהָ֑ר וַיְהִ֤י מֹשֶׁה֙ בָּהָ֔ר אַרְבָּעִ֣ים יֹ֔ום וְאַרְבָּעִ֖ים לָֽיְלָה׃ פ wayavoʾ mosheh betowkhe heʿanan wayaʿal ʾel־hahar wayehiy mosheh bahar ʾarebaʿiym yowm weʾarebaʿiym layelah׃ f

L’attente fait partie de la rencontre

Moïse entre dans la nuée après une durée d’attente. La délégation laissée aux anciens, à Aaron et à Hur rappelle que la vie du peuple continue pendant son absence. Les quarante jours préparent aussi la crise du veau, où cette durée deviendra difficile à supporter.
